A columbarium is a place of burial where an urn is not interred in the ground, as is customary in traditional cemeteries, but placed in specially designed niches. These niches are sealed with glass panels, allowing the urn to remain visible while being respectfully protected.
With great care and attention to detail, we planned and established our columbarium at Sachsenallee 13, 04552 Borna, opening its doors in 2025. Our vision was to create a special place—a space that offers comfort, conveys a sense of peace and security, and provides families with a dignified setting in which to remember their loved ones.
A columbarium is more than a final resting place – it is a space dedicated to remembrance, reflection, and lasting connection. Here, urns are laid to rest in beautifully designed niches that provide a dignified and peaceful environment for honoring loved ones.
Unlike traditional cemeteries, a columbarium offers many advantages: a sheltered setting that can be visited in any weather, a bright and meticulously maintained atmosphere, and thoughtfully designed surroundings that provide comfort and serenity.
Family and friends can gather in a place that fosters closeness without the responsibilities of extensive grave maintenance. Instead, they are free to focus on what truly matters – cherishing memories, celebrating a life well lived, and finding quiet moments of reflection.
Following the passing of a loved one, the first step is the respectful transfer of the deceased using our modern funeral vehicles. We then work closely with you to plan a meaningful farewell ceremony, carefully tailored to your wishes—whether held with the urn or the casket.
Our columbarium offers exceptional flexibility when it comes to interment terms. Whether you require a resting period of just a few days, the traditional 20-year term, or an extended duration beyond that, we provide solutions tailored to your individual wishes and needs.
Transfer of the ashes for sea burial or to any location of your choice.
The statutory resting period in a cemetery is typically a minimum of 20 years. Yet experience has taught us that grief follows no fixed timeline. Every journey through loss is unique, just as every person who mourns is unique.
That is why our columbarium offers flexible and individually tailored interment terms that can be extended at any time to meet your personal needs. Whether you choose a resting period of a few days, many years, or beyond the traditional term, the decision is always yours.
When the time is right, your loved one’s ashes can be respectfully transferred for a sea burial in the Baltic Sea or to another cemetery or memorial location of your choice.
For a 20-year interment term, the contribution toward the maintenance and care of the columbarium starts at €2,800.00.
